End of Summer Fun Days!

During August and September, we really enjoyed the warm, sunny weather! Despite school being in session, we still had lots of outside fun. Here are some snapshots of our last 2 months!

Poor baby girl...she had the stomach virus!

Look at this precious angel. Lots of fun in the park!

This is Kendall and Sam every morning trying to go to school. They lay on the couch and I can't pull them off!

That hair, though!

Sam and Kathryn having a blast in the park. Feeding the ducks, swinging and playing, and sno-cones!

Maggie and Kendall playing dress-up!

Sam has become obsessed with wanting his hair "short" like daddy (meaning straight). He brushes it down every night trying to straighten it, but it curls right back up!

I had lunch with Kendall and her friends at school. They are a MESS! I'm so thankful she has such sweet friends at school!

I got to visit Sam at a "Day in Pre-K".

We are so excited that Uncle Mark and his crew have moved to Pontotoc. We are having fun getting to play with them more often. We took them to the splash pad at Joyner for some fun in the water!

Me and my little kitties!

We met Aunt Jessie, Andrew, and Annalyce at the Bodock Festival in Pontotoc. The kids got to pet the animals and ride the pony. They had fun!

Uncle Mark getting a massage from Kendall and her helpers!

Sam and his friends at school with Miss Lackey!

Happy Birthday to Daddy!!

We had a very low key birthday treat for daddy this year on his birthday. On September 8, he turned 48 years old. We surprised him with a sign decorated by the kids, balloons, and cupcakes! He loved it and of course, the kids did too! We are so thankful for another year and another celebration of our "daddy bear"!

Another tooth gone!

Last night (Aug 10), Kendall had another first...the first top tooth came out! Yep, that tooth had been loose for months, and we tried to pull it multiple times. Daddy even got out his pliers to attempt to pull it but it never would come out. Finally, the dental floss "jerk" motion pulled it right out! She was so excited. The Shafers were over here to watch all of the commotion! Anyway, she left it for her tooth fairy, Twinkle, and she left her some money and some fairy dust! She took her $5.00 straight to Toys R Us and bought herself a lava lamp and some "flarp" for her and Sam. She has another top tooth loose, so I can't wait to see how long it takes to get it out!

First Day of School

The summer has flown by and school has started! Kendall started 2nd grade at Lawhon and Sam started Pre-K at ECEC. Luckily, they started on separate days so we were able to focus on each one of them on their individual "first day" of school! Kendall started on Aug. 3. Her teacher is Mrs. Bowdry, and she has many friends in her class. She was very excited about starting school, especially since Caroline was in her class this year. Sam, Kathryn and I got the chance to walk her in for the first day!

My big 2nd grader!!

Sam started school on Aug. 5th and of course, he picked out his Under Armor clothes to wear to school. I warned his teacher ahead of time that he dresses himself, so he may or may not always match! Anyway, he was such a big boy going in to class and not shedding a tear. It helped that Big Sis was there to make it all better! He was excited to be going to her old school! His teachers are Mrs. Lee and Miss Lackey, and he is very excited that his friend, Noah is in his class!

Big Boy getting some love from his Big Sis!

It always help to have Kendall along to make him feel comfortable!

They both had a great first day at their new schools. We are praying for a great school year!

15th Anniversary Trip to Aruba!! (2 months early)!

Chet and I took an early anniversary trip in July. Our 15th anniversary is coming up on Sept 15. It's hard to believe it's been 15 years! The Lord has blessed us in so many ways, and we are so grateful. We have a wonderful family and 3 amazing children. It hasn't always been rainbows and roses, but I wouldn't change a thing about it!
We were able to take a trip to Aruba. It's a place we've always wanted to go, so we were so blessed to be able to go. We had a fantastic trip, and the island was absolutely beautiful. We encountered a few "bumps" before we got there, but we finally got there a day late (thanks to Delta's mechanical delay)! By that time, we were so thankful to finally be there. We spent the entire time lounging on the beach, eating good, and doing absolutely nothing!! It was awesome! Luckily, we were able to face time the kids back at Mimi's each day, so we didn't have to spend too much time away from seeing their sweet little faces. They had fun with Mimi, Aunt Karen and her crew--we owe them big time for allowing us the time to get away! We do hope to be able to take the kids back there one day!

The water was crystal clear and so calm!

This is what I did all day long...lounge in the sun and read! I actually read 3 books while I was there!

The beautiful sun over the water during sunset!

Enjoying our first night's dinner!

2 Thumbs up to this amazing place!

Reflecting back on 15 amazing years!

This was our dinner at the amazing italian restaurant. The waitress made our dinner in a huge cheese bowl. It was fantastic!

"I LOVE ARUBA"!
