Welcome to EVENTFUL JULY!

Well, July didn't start off so well for mama!! I was at work and started to not feel well. I ended up having a kidney stone and having to have surgery to have it removed by our good friend, Kris Whitehead! That was not quite how I had planned to start my July or to even get a date night with Chet, but it happened and I'm so thankful all went well with the surgery. I'm so thankful for the Brands who jumped in and kept the kids while I had surgery. They had a blast as always and didn't miss us one bit!

The kids enjoying taco night at the Brands!

This crazy cat just makes himself at home anywhere in this house!

We spent July 4 with Aunt Jessica and Uncle Mark at Grandpa's house in Corinth. The kids enjoyed a water slide, the choo choo train ride, playing golf and frisbee in the back yard, and just running around and burning off the energy!

My birthday is on July 8, and the kids couldn't wait for me to get home from work to give my present. They didn't even wait on Chet to come home from work! They were so excited to get me some airpods to wear while I exercise. I was even more excited than they were! They then treated me to dinner of my choice and I chose Pizza vs Tacos, and the food was amazing! We were so excited to be eating out since we haven't been going to many restaurants due to Covid. It was an amazing birthday, and I'm looking forward to an amazing 43rd year!

My sweet friends gathered together to treat me to dinner at Park Heights! Chris, Katie, Jodie, Liz, Catherine, Hollie, and Me. It's always fun to get to hang out with my friends!

We had Kat's follow up with Dr Fagan and she was so excited to get to see him. She gets so teased and shy when she gets around him, but she loves to talk about him. He's been so great with her and this toe! It's healing well, praise God. We didn't do too well following the "don't get it wet rule". We had the hardest time keeping it dry and trying to figure out how to swim while keeping it dry. It didn't work! Ha ha!!

We spent actual July 4th with the Shafers. We swam, ate good, and ended the night with fireworks at Fairpark!

Poor Kat, swimming just wears her out. We had a little outdoor gathering with our closest friends (Beavers, Brands, and Kahlstorfs) at honey's pool. It was really the first time we had all been together in so long! We swam and ordered mexican. It was good for my soul!

The kids are always wanting a dog...so instead of getting one, we borrowed the Shafers dog and took him for a walk. They enjoyed it and Coop even loved it, too. I told them we could just "borrow" friends dogs and help care for them instead of getting one of our own! They weren't too crazy about that idea! LOL!

June Fun!!

Well, June was a fun month...we finally got some normalcy to our lives. Sam started back playing summer baseball and our first 2 games were rained out!! Chet was the coach and I think this may be the last time he volunteers for that!! LOL! Here we are soaking wet due to the rain!

These 2 love to sleep!! and Kat loves to sleep right under daddy! She's a snuggle bunny!

These 3 have been staying by themselves while daddy ad I both work. They are doing well and have become creative in their cooking. We got lots of pictures and facetimes of new recipes they had been trying!

We are so excited when Cash comes to Tupelo for baseball! We finally get to see him! He was even able to spend the night with us during this trip!

Sweet girl...she is adorable in her red, white, and blue swimsuit she borrowed from Pierce!

Here we are awaiting our appointment with Dr Fagan! Mask up, Mississippi! LOL!

ACCIDENT PRONE!

So, several days ago, Kathryn dropped the ipad on her toe. Of course, it caused a bruise under her nail, but over the last few days, it started looking awful!! We saw Dr Fagan on her 5th birthday (she LOVES him, so she was super happy about that!) and he suggested a surgical removal of the nail, repair of the nailbed laceration, and a re-application of the nail sutured in place. SOOOOOO, the day after her birthday, that's what we did! We went to the Surgery Center and everyone was so sweet to her! Mr. Drew (another one of Kat's favorite people) and Mrs. Lauren (Maggie-moo's mama) put her to sleep, and all of my recovery peeps took great care of her. She acted kind of wild and crazy in recovery so they let mama come back and take her home in her crazy mood. Thankfully, once we got home, she was much better and came back to her the current world and she did great. The biggest issue is going to be keeping this thing clean and dry for the next 2 weeks!! :) It's not quite the birthday we anticipated, but we are so thankful for everyone that made it ok!

Pre-surgery toe!!

She and Marshall are ready for surgery!!

Post surgery--she was not a happy camper. She cried and cried, but thankfully, the movie kept her entertained!

Here is the toe after surgery...we were supposed to keep the dressing on for 10 days and that DID NOT happen!! We couldn't keep it on at all! The toenail is sutured on!

Post surgery naps are always great!!

Happy Father's Day to the Best!!

We enjoyed a very low key Father's Day...we made daddy breakfast and the kids made him some homemade cards! It was exactly the kind of father's day to have! We did enjoy Mother's Day back in May. It was very low key with a card and lunch. We didn't take any pictures to document it...in fact, quarantine has just been downright weird! Oh well, it will definitely be a time to remember and our kids will always remember these days!

Mama’s RX for Quarantine

We all know the best RX for quarantine and social distancing...going to the beach with friends!!! My normal beach trip with Tupelo girls got cancelled due to Covid, so thankfully, I was invited on a trip in June with my amazing friends from college--Jennifer, Julie, Kim, and Lee Ellen. We were all the best of friends at DSU and I haven't seen them in so long! We had so much fun catching up and reminiscing about old times in college! We laughed until we cried! We exercised, road bikes, lounged on the beach and ate lots of good food! It was good for the soul for sure! I hope to make this an annual event!

Me and Kim!! One of my best friends since about 9th grade!

Love this B.F.F. sign!

Me and Bucee! I've never been to a Bucees before!

So much fun hanging at the beach!!

Guess who we got to visit with?? Andrea! Kim, Andrea and I were best buddies in high school!
