Babe Ruth Wax Museum

Sam had to participate in the 2nd grade wax museum and he chose to be Babe Ruth. He learned so much about him and his career. He did an amazing job helping with his board and memorizing his speech. We were so proud of our little shy guy!!

Happy Birthday Trip for Sam!!

Sam's birthday fell on President's Day this year so the kids were out of school for a holiday. We took a long weekend to Chattanooga, which is somewhere we have always wanted to go! It was so much fun! The town is amazing and there are so many fun things to do there. We only experienced a small amount of it, so I'm hoping that at some point we can go back and do some more exploring!

Day 1: High Point Climbing
This was such a fun place!! The kids had sooooo much fun climbing all of those walls! Chet and I didn't climb, but we really enjoyed watching them! Even Kathryn could scale those walls!!

After finishing at High Point, we ate lunch at Tony's Pasta, which was amazing!!
We walked through the downtown and by the aquarium to the walnut street bridge. It goes over the river and into the Northshore area. We played by the river at Coolidge Park, experienced the Carousel which was built over 100 years ago, and the kids found an amazing hill and joined in on the fun of sliding down on cardboard boxes. They had so much fun being outdoors! The weather was beautiful! We stopped in at Starbuck's and Clumpies Ice Cream Parlor before walking back across the bridge!

We made one last visit to High Point Climbing to work off our ice cream before heading back to the hotel for swimming and relaxing!!

Day 2: Rock City at Lookout Mountain
We ventured up the mountain to Rock City. It was such a beautiful place. All of the natural rock formations and greenery and mountains were amazing! The kids loved all of it, especially the places that were a super-tight squeeze! I thought I may be a little panicky in those tight locations, but I survived it! Thankfully!! We made it to the top of the mountain where you can look out and see 7 states at once! It was such a pretty view, and again, the weather was perfect! It was a little cool in the beginning but warmed up nicely!

Fat Man Squeeze! It was tight!!!

We made it to the Fairlyand Gardens at Rock City where everything was a miniature fairy tale. It was so pretty! The detail were very intricate! It was the kids favorite part!

We then made it to Ruby Falls which is an underground tunnel through the mountain that leads to an amazing waterfall. We had to wait about 45 minutes in line to actually get to the elevator. Thankfully, the kids were good and tolerated the wait well! Once we made it the elevator, it took us down over 400 feet underground and we saw some amazing rock formations before reaching the falls. It was a beautiful sight. Once we made it back up, we were starving. We ate at a BBQ joint downtown and went back to the hotel for swimming and bed. We had a very fun day 2!

Day 3: Children's Discover Museum
It's Sam's Birthday!!!! Our big boy is 8! We let him decide what the plans would be for the day. He debated about the Zoo, but decided on the kids museum instead.
We went to the kids museum which was super cool. However, the kids were bored after about an hour. There was so much stuff to do in there that I think they were overwhelmed with all it had to offer. We stayed about 2 hours before venturing back out to walk downtown.

We made it back downtown to walk and enjoy the weather before heading home. We ate Ben and Jerry's ice cream for lunch, walked back across the Walnut street bridge and headed straight for the hill of fun! We enjoyed about an hour of fun before loading up and heading back to Tupelo. We had a great time and made lots of amazing memories!
