Family Fun Vacation!!

We set out on the annual Abraham family fun vacation. The whole trip was a surprise to the kids...we didn't tell them where we were going until the night before each new spot! We packed up and headed out to our very first stop...Dismal Canyons in Alabama. It's a really cool hike down in the canyons with waterfalls, huge rocks, and several creeks. Luckily, we didn't encounter any snakes or other major insects. The kids had a ball and everyone hung in there until the very end. Kathryn got a little fatigued and grumpy towards the end, but we filled her belly with a peanut butter sandwich and she made it out of the canyon!

After leaving Dismal Canyons, we drove on to Decatur, AL to stay the night on a hotel. Of course, this was probably one of the favorite parts of the trip for the kids. They LOVE a hotel! First thing they wanted to do was swim, so we hung by the pool for a bit. We then went to downtown Decatur to eat at the Mellow Mushroom. We found out once we got there that they were having a fun night in that area, so we took advantage of the beautiful weather and fun activities. The kids loved the old cars and the vendors items. It was a fun evening in a new town!

The next morning, we headed over to Point Mallard Water Park to spend the day. It was large park with 3 separate areas with tons of water activities! The big kids loved all the waterslides, huge diving boards, and wave pool. Kathryn was sad that she wasn't tall enough for the slide, so she pouted a little, but she still had fun!

The kids and dad were so brave to go off of these olympic sized diving platforms. I actually crawled up to do it and almost had a panic attack so I backed myself right down from the platform! The kids laughed at me, but I wasn't prepared to die that day! :)

Once we got tired of all the water, we loaded up and drove up to Franklin, TN to stay the night with the Davis crew. Unfortunately, I didn't get any pictures while we were there, but Mr Adam cooked us a delicious rib dinner. We also got to visit with Andrea's parents, whom we haven't seen in a long time.

The next morning, we got up early and headed into Nashville to the Opryland Hotel. The kids were SO surprised and excited to be staying there for the night. It's such a beautiful hotel! We also did the new Watersound water park for the 2 days, and that was a blast!! The kids loved the huge waterslides and the super fun wave pool. Kathryn, once again, was super sad about not being tall enough for the slides. I'm looking forward to the time when she grows a bit and she can do everything that Kendall and Sam get to do!! She got a little ill over that but all in all, she was good. I think it's safe to say that everyone had a ball on our super adventurous family vacation!
