Fun Family Vacation (minus one!)

We have always wanted to take the kids snow skiing, but we realize that they would either love it or hate it. So we drove to St. Louis for Sam's birthday weekend (kids were out for President's Day) and went to Hidden Valley Ski Resort and spent the day snow skiing. We had fun, but it is a lot of work. The kids realized real quick that it involves learning to carry all of your own ski gear, and they weren't big fans of that! Thankfully, we left Kathryn in Oxford with Uncle Mark and Aunt Jessi and she did so well! While Kendall and Sam went to ski school, Chet and I went and skied on our own. It was fun, but we also realized how bad out of shape we were!! LOL!

The drive into St Louis took longer than we expected because it started snowing and the roads were covered in snow and ice. We drove about 40mph for the last 2 hours of the trip. Thankfully, the kids fell asleep and it was such a peaceful ride.

Here is the snow on the ground in St. Louis!! The kids were pumped!

Day 1 of skiing at Hidden Valley

After the kids were tired of skiing, we went snow tubing. It was fun but exhausting!!

Day 2--
The kids decided to forgo snow skiing and we went into St Louis to the City Museum. It is an amazing place with so much to do! Since it was still snowy and icy, the outside activities were closed, but we had a blast on the inside. I got a little claustrophobic in the tunnels, so I decided real quick that I would just watch and let the kids roam and play! After the museum, we had lunch and rode by the Arch. It was freezing outside so we ended up going back to the mall where the kids got some new adidas shoes and gear. That was the highlight of the trip for Sam! LOL! We spent the evening swimming in the indoor pool and watching movies in the room! It was a fun trip!

Sam decided he would take one of these for his 16th birthday!

Happy Valentine's Day

It's Valentine's Day!! And guess where we spent the morning...at the dentist office being a part of the "no cavity club". Then we went back to school to get all of that delicious candy and have a Valentine's Party with our class.

We also presented Sam with an early birthday present since we are going to be out of town for his birthday!

A new shark suitcase and bag for our upcoming trip!!! He was excited to have a suitcase of his own! He couldn't wait to pack it up for our trip!
