The Abrahams take Atlanta, Stone Mountain, and the Great Wolf Lodge!!
We took several days and made a fun adventure vacation for our family. We started out on Saturday morning and drove to Atlanta. We got downtown about 2:00 pm, and of course, the first thing we had to do was eat! It's like having a bunch of hungry elephants around here! We ate at Johnny Rockets before heading down to Centennial Park to walk around. It was so neat down there with the cool fountains, ferris wheel, and fun playground!
After a stroll through the park, we went on the the Georgia Aquarium. It was so neat!! We got to see the seal show, all the cool fish and sharks, and our most favorite was the dolphin show! Kendall chose to sit us on the front row and we got SOAKED!!!! We ended up in the gift shop buying the kids dry t-shirts to wear! Kathryn wasn't a big fan of being wet, but we got her dry and she napped in the stroller while we enjoyed the rest of the aquarium!
We finished at the aquarium and drove out to Stone Mountain to stay at the Marriott. We walked over to watch the laser show that night. It was really cool, but everyone was exhausted from the busy day so we didn't make it through the whole show!
Day 2 consisted of spending the day on Stone Mountain. We started with the trolley ride up the mountain. Our car was named the "Titanic". Kendall was thrilled since she has a slight obsession with the Titanic! The view from the top was amazing! We enjoyed taking lots of pictures and hiking on the rocks. We considered walking down the mountain but figured that the kids would get tired half way down and Chet and I were too old and out of shape to carry kids down the mountain!
After coming down to the bottom of the mountain, we got to enjoy the rest of the cool things at stone mountain. The kids played in an indoor 3 story playground to take a break from the heat! We then let them do the ropes course which was super high and scary looking! Sam and Kendall did as well as daddy did on the course! Kathryn and I walked around and played in the small creeks while we waited on them.
We then took the train around the whole mountain. By this time, everyone was hot and tired, so Kathryn got in a quick nap on the train! We finished up the day on Stone Mountain by playing in the water park. The kids were "over" the mountain by this time, so went back to the hotel where they swam and enjoyed the pool. We ate pizza by the pool and relaxed for the evening!
Days 3 and 4 -- Great Wolf Lodge Adventure!!
We drove from Atlanta down to LaGrange to the new Great Wolf Lodge Water Park. The kids were so excited about the indoor water park! They loved the water slides and wave pool! The only issue is that the water was cold and the kids stayed cold and with chill bumps the whole time, but they didn't care at all! We spent some time at the outdoor pool, and Kathryn even napped under the umbrella!
We got to enjoy some mini bowling, ropes course climbing, and the rock wall, too! Kendall met some sweet friends, Olivia and Katelyn who were there with Olivia's grandmother. They got to hang around and do Majiquest and the climbing activities together prior to our departure home. We had a wonderful vacation! Lots of memories were made and I'm so thankful for the opportunity to spend with our precious family!
