Last Day of School and Awards Day

We survived!!! Hooray! It's our last day of school and we are so excited! Sam did wonderful in Pre-K at ECEC and Kendall had a great year in 2nd grade at Lawhon. Kendall also had awards day, where she received 2 awards-- The social studies award and the Honor Roll award. We are so thankful for a fantastic year for us, but bring on the "sweet summertime"!!

We let the girls have an end of year playdate after school, and boy was it wild! These 4 friends are all precious and SO energetic! LOL! They had a great time swimming, eating pizza, playing dress-up, and singing karaoke!

Sam's End of the Year Party

Sam's class had an end of the year celebration the day before school was out. We celebrated with ice cream and playing outside. He has had such a great year at ECEC and we've loved our sweet teachers, Mrs. Lee and Miss Lackey. Kathryn was there to celebrate, too! We are looking forward to summer!!

Kendall's Dance Recital, Mother's Day, and Gymnastics Recit

Kendall had her Dance Recital the weekend of Mother's Day. She did an amazing job!! She is a natural ballet dancer! Her class performed so well, and they got so many compliments on how well they did! She says that she doesn't want to take ballet next year, but I'm hoping she changes her mind because she has natural talent!

Kendall also had her gymnastics recital this week! She's doing well and learning her back handspring. 

Mother's Day was very low key (just the way I like it)! We had church and a nap, which is just perfect!

Family Beach Vacation

This year, we were able to sneak in a quick trip to the beach before school was out. The kids were very excited about going, since it has been several years since we've gone to the beach. We took Mimi with us, and we are so thankful she was there. Sweet Kathryn spent a lot of time napping in the condo, so Mimi was gracious enough to hang out with her so we could spend time with the big kids on the beach! The first 2 days we were there were a bit miserable. It was a little rainy and cold and windy! We attempted to tough it out on Friday for a bit, but the kids were freezing and blue, so we came in and took them to the Trampoline Park. We had so much fun there, and Chet and I enjoyed it as much (if not more than) the kids! On Saturday and Sunday, the weather was sunny but still cool and windy. It was tough for baby Kathryn to be out there due to the water being so cold. She enjoyed it a little in the mornings, but mainly spent the afternoons in the condo taking a nap!

The Brands joined us on Saturday and Sunday, and Kendall and Sam had a great time with IK and Brody. The adults even got a date night to Cobalt's!! It was a memorable vacation, and despite the weather being kind of yucky in the beginning, we made the best of it and still had fun! They keep talking about our next trip to the beach!
