Baby Kathryn turns 1!

June 23, 2016--WOW! That was the quickest year ever! I can't believe we are celebrating Kathryn turning 1 already! I promise, it seems like just yesterday that she was born. This precious surprise baby has brought so much joy and happiness to our family over the last year. I am so thankful that God's plans are always perfect! She truly completes our family! 

We celebrated her birthday with just the 5 of us. It was perfect! She loved her cake, but she especially loved squeezing it in her hands!

wt: 17 lb 10 oz (smallest Abraham to date)

ht: 28.25 in

teeth: 7

walks, waves bye, loves to eat everything!

completed 1 year of nursing and now takes whole milk and juice out of straw zippy cups.

Father-Daughter Ball 2016

The Father-Daughter Ball is always such a fun night for Chet and Kendall. She looks forward to this day all year long. We found the perfect dress and shoes for her, and she looked absolutely gorgeous. Daddy didn't look so bad himself! :) Anyway, they danced the night away and had a fabulous time! 

Sam, Kathryn, and I hung out with Mrs. Hollie and Brody and another mother-son duo. We enjoyed swimming, eating, and visiting with each other, too!

We sure do love this daddy and are so thankful for all he does for us! He's probably their favorite because he is always way more fun than mama!!

Summer Vacation at Ross Bridge!

This past weekend, we surprised the kids with a little getaway to Birmingham to the Ross Bridge Resort and Spa. We picked them up from school, van was packed, and we headed out. They thought we were going to swim. After about 1 hour in the car, they figured out we were going to a "hotel with a pool"! They were SO excited! We got there on Friday evening, went straight to the pool and it seems like we never left! We ate dinner out there and the kids and Chet swam until 10:30 while the movie played on the big screen. I was upstairs in the room with Kathryn (she didn't adjust well to the pack n play in the hotel room). Once she fell asleep, I was able to watch the kids swim from the balcony! We had a great time, and we even ran into some friends from Tupelo while we were there. Saturday consisted of lots of swimming, walking around the Ross Bridge community, and eating pizza by the pool (until the monsoon hit)! On Sunday, we stopped by the water park in Fayette, AL. We met the Brands there for some afternoon fun. Poor Sam was too short to ride the big water slides. He was so bummed! Kathryn wasn't digging the heat or the hot concrete, but Kendall sure had a blast! All in all, it was a great trip. Kathryn did very well for a 1 year old baby, and Kendall and Sam loved it! I'm so thankful we have made some fun memories this weekend!

The water park in Alabama was great!! They had a great splash pad area for the babies, a small slide for the toddlers, and 3 big slides for the older kids. They also had a lazy river for the lazy folks! It was an awesome place!!

This and That...

I find myself taking a whole lot of pictures and I don't usually do anything with them. So, I'm finally getting these uploaded to the blog. 

I love taking pictures of Kathryn while she sleeps. Those eyes, those fingers, that sweet little face...I want to always remember what she looked like while she slept!

I finally got my hair done!! Yay! 

We are so thankful that summer is finally here! We are having so much fun swimming and playing in the pool! Sam decided to put on the mermaid tail and hop around the pool with it on. He was cracking me up. Bless his heart...he plays with all these girls all the time and he ends up doing exactly what they do!

Early morning conversations before school are always so much fun. It's rare that they all sit together and get along, so I definitely had to get this on camera!

One of their most favorite things to do is play in the rain puddles. They had so much fun splashing and getting wet. I love it when we find creative things to do outside. It gets them off the electronics and out of the house!

We went to Taziki's after church to eat one Sunday. I snapped some pictures of all of us as we waited on our food!
