We had a fun, eventful weekend this past weekend! Mimi came on Friday and was able to attend the Grandparent's Day program and Book Fair at Kendall's school. Kendall was so excited that Mimi was able to come! We checked her out of school early and took her to eat lunch.
After dinner on Friday night, we took the whole family to Crave to eat dessert. It was absolutely delicious (as always). Coffee and a skillet cookie with ice cream is the perfect way to end the night!
On Saturday, we took the kids to the "Touch-a-Truck" event at Ballard Park. It was perfect weather to enjoy a day outside. The kids loved it, especially Sam. There were so many big trucks and loud sirens. The first visit was to the ambulance. Sam was a little hesitant about getting up in there, but once Kendall did, he wasn't scared at all!
They wanted to see a real "Policewoman" and listen to her loud siren!
Fun on the Firetruck!
I love this facial expression! He's up to no-good!
They were excited to ride in the tall "ride" from busy lad!
Sam loved the horn on the Garbage truck. It was his favorite truck out there. I hope this isn't an indication of his future profession!
Mimi and Kathryn. It was so loud out there, but she loved it!
Kendall and Sam with Mr. Denny scooping up dirt! Sam wasn't real sure about it, but he had fun anyway!
Eating snow cones on the soccer field! We played frisbee and just let the kids run. It was a beautiful day!
Oh My!! I hope this never happens for real!
Chet and I celebrated our 14th wedding anniversary a little early over the weekend since Mimi was here to keep the kids. We went to the movie to see "War Room", and it was fantastic! We then went to dinner at Homer's steak house, and stayed the night at the Courtyard Marriott. It was a very nice and relaxing evening, and we were able to enjoy being in some peace and quiet! :)
We slept late the next morning and then went to lunch at Longhorns before returning home to see the kids and relieve Mimi from her "grandmother duties"! We were so thankful to get some time alone! These days, it doesn't happen too often!
It also happened to be grandparents day on Sunday, so we were so thankful that Mimi was able to come spend the weekend with us to love on these precious kids! We don't know what we would do without her!
Mimi and her sweet Abraham kiddos!
