Happy 2nd Birthday to our Big Sambo!

I can't believe it's been 2 years since sweet Sam made his appearance into the world on Feb. 17! This precious boy has grown so quickly, and his personality is absolutely adorable! He is easy going, most all of the time! Instead of throwing him a huge birthday party, we decided to celebrate with his friends at school, and it just happened to be that Mimi, Maddi, and Aunt Karen were in town to celebrate with us! Sam loved seeing them since it was a surprise to him!

2 Year Stats:

weight: 26.14 lbs
height: 36 inches
favorite foods: anything that doesn't eat him first!! Gummies, powdered donuts, noodles, "treats"
favorite characters: Wiggles ("Siggles")

Valentine's Day 2014

Happy Valentine's Day to all of my Valentine's! The kids got balloons and a gift bag of pi's, books, and candy! Mama and daddy didn't get anything! That's okay, though! We have all the love we need!

Papa's Entrance to Heaven

On the evening of January 28, 2014, our lives changed forever. Sweet Papa was welcomed into Heaven with open arms. We had no idea that he would be called home that night, but we are so thankful for the 70 years he spent here on this earth! Lots of tears were shed, but we also filled the room with lots of Papa/Bobby stories that kept us in good spirits. We are so thankful for the friends and family that showed up and loved on us during this sad time. The community of Clarksdale came together and wrapped our family with love and support when we needed it most! I knew that most of that time would be a blur for us, so I wanted to make sure we had pictures to remember!

Beautiful arrangement on the casket and Papa holding on to his CIA hat with is pack of M&M's in his pocket!

Visit to Mimi and Papa's!

Poor Sam started running fever on Thursday night, and it got up to 103.2 with no other symptoms. I decided to take him into the doctor to make sure we didn't have anything contagious since we had planned to go to Clarksdale for the weekend. They ran all sorts of tests and shoved swabs in his nose and throat, stuck him for blood, and did a chest X-ray on him. Luckily, everything came back negative, but poor Sam had just about had enough. He laid out in the floor of the office and threw a fit until it was time to go!

So, on Saturday, January 25, we decided to make the trip to visit Mimi and Papa for the night since daddy was working. We had a great visit with them, and I am so very thankful for the pictures that we snapped just prior to heading back home. The kids hopped up in Papa's lap and decided to pose for a few silly pictures! We had no idea that these would be our very last pictures with our sweet Papa!

"Open your eyes, Papa"!!
