Christmas Eve/Christmas Day 2015

We decided to stay here at home for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day since daddy had the flu and didn't want to expose anyone else! It was nice just being home, making our own traditions, and enjoying each other! The kids had fun, too, but we sure did miss our family!

I have no idea why we have no pictures of the kids with their presents!!! I guess we ended up letting that slip by us! However, Kendall got a trampoline, some pajamas, some new boots, and a stocking full of fun stuff, including the frozen earrings she wanted. Sam got a race track (which had to be returned to Santa's toy place for not working), a Cars Scooter, and a stocking full of stuff that he liked!

Our biggest gift, though, was the envelope that mommy and daddy had put on the Christmas tree revealing the gender of the new baby! We allowed the kids to open it up and Kendall got to reveal the news to all of us! It was a shock for her to read "female", but we were excited and she was super giddy about it! Sam said he wanted a boy! :) Anyway, it was so much fun to have that surprise waiting on us on Christmas morning! 

After the eventful morning, we sang Happy Birthday to Jesus and went out to get the trampoline put together for the kids! Poor daddy--flu and all--had to do that, but luckily the weather as beautiful and the kids were able to enjoy the outside while we got the trampoline put together! 

We are so blessed to have the gift of Jesus in our lives, and we were able to celebrate that with our kids and allow them to know the true meaning of Christmas!

Christmas Fun!

We took the kids to the mall to see Santa Claus! He was a big hit with the kids! I was very proud of Sam since last year he wasn't a very big fan of Santa! He told Santa that he wanted a "red truck, yellow truck, blue truck..." I think the boy likes trucks!! Kendall asked for Elsa earrings, an iPod, and a baby sister!

Poor, poor daddy...He came home from work on Tuesday, Dec 23 feeling feverish and achy. I immediately sent him to the dr for a flu test. Much to our surprise, he tested positive!! It kind of through a monkey-wrench in all of our Christmas plans, but our number 1 focus was to get him feeling better and for none of the rest of us to get it! So this is how we spent 2 days--covered with masks! The kids thought it was so great! However, I sent him to the guest bedroom to sleep! I sure didn't want the flu being pregnant! 

Our Big Surprise!

Well, much to our surprise, we had a fantastic announcement for the kids and the rest of the family at Thanksgiving! The Lord has blessed us with another baby! Shocked and overwhelmed was a complete understatement, but God is good and we are so thankful for the precious blessing! 

To set things up, a few weeks after I found out I was pregnant (we had not told anyone), Kendall was writing her Christmas list. The second thing on her list was a "Real Baby Girl". I asked her about it, thinking maybe it was a baby doll or something new she had seen on TV. She said, "no, mama, I want a real baby sister"! I was shocked because I knew I was pregnant and she had NO CLUE about it. We had never talked about babies before and she had never asked for another sibling! So I guess the intuition of kids is really true!

October and November Fun!

Kendall's class had a Hoe-down at school where they dressed like cowgirls and sang songs. They did great! Here is her Kindergarten class with her teacher, Mrs. Corkern.

Sweet! Poor Sam, when it got time to sing in front of the crowd, he sat up there like a knot on a log. He was so embarrassed! At least he didn't cry this year!
